I am starting to hear some noise coming from the primary. Notice when I release the clutch the noise occurs, and when its engaged, it goes away. I know that the 2006 streetbob has issues with the IPB and Stator and believe the symptoms i am having are a result of that. I just want to know exactly what year should I purchase parts for that will resolve this issue or what additional parts I need. Should I get the IPB and Stator from an 07 streetbob? Any other parts I should go ahead replace as well?
I am not certain but I think the 2006 Dyna family is kind of the redheaded step child of Harley...in all the parts books I always see fits these years except for 2006 Dyna. I think it is because that year Dyna was the first with a 6 speed trans but still had teh 88 Inch motor
Have you taken a peek in there to see if theres any evidence of what's keeping you up nights? The first thing I did to my scoot was get rid of that oem tensioner, if you do it early on there's a real good chance you wont have any IPB failures. Oh and regular fluid changes in that pressure cooker will help a lot. The miles stated in the manual is totally crazy. I do all three holes at the same time regardless.

In parts books almost always the 07 & up will fit the 06 dyna and sometimes the listings for 07 & up will have in small print " includes 06 dyna".
Yup, took the words right off my keyboard. First thing that goes on a new bike. Keep an eye on Amazon the price goes up and down and I got mine for $150.
If your not using the right lubricant or its spent, it will make everything noisy in there.
I got a wild hair to try Mobil1 ATF once and OMG was it noisy as hell. And when I drained it out almost immediately it smelled like a dead body. So, much so that the Mrs passing thru the garage asked If something died in there.
