So i have to replace my tire on my bob... I firgure while it is off i am going to have my brother powder coat the hubs and rims... 1?: what do i have to know about powder coating rims and hubs
2?: how do i lace and unlace a rim?
any advise that you could give would be HUGE!!!
does anyone know where i can get a set of twisted spokes from my Bob????
I have my rims powder coated but not the hubs. If you do the hubs my suggestion is to get new bairings installed, because on mine they sand blasted the crome for the powder coat. If you are brave and want to try, I posted some time ago how I took my rims off of the hubs without removing the spokes. Took some time and notes but got them all back together and then had a guy true them up and then had the tires put back on. Not to hard but time consuming.
Good luck
ya unlacing is cake, maybe take some pics first. there is a pattern to it, i've done bicycle rims but never a motorcycle but id say there the smae thing just bigger and stronger. once you find the pattern just continue around the wheel and once done take it to a dirtbike or bicycle shop and they can true it cheaper than the stealer will. my buddy went to skool to build road bikes and mt bikes so he's had classes on wheel building so i use him but he's shown me sum stuff and i watched alot. its not hard but intimadating for sure just take your time and lots of pics and you will have no troubles....o and try not to scatch that new powder coat!!! good luck
