Hey all
Need a little help with my bike.
Accidentally left the ignition on for a couple of hours
When I tried to start it the lights on the speedometer went crazy and wouldn't start.
I assumed the battery was dead and shut it off
The red key light stayed on and there was a kind of whuring noise coming from the front of the motor every 10 seconds or so.
Even with the power off
So I hooked it up to the trickle charger for the night changed the battery in my fob
This morning I went to try and start it and nothing no power light or noise when I turn the ignition on
Any ideas
New rider just bought the bike gear and did the course really can't have an expensive repair right now lol

Sounds like a toasted battery. You need to check your battery cables to make sure they are tight and secure. For a fairly drained battery, a trickle charger will not help.. they only maintain an existing charge. Don't know if you know someone with a good automotive battery charger... a smart charger can also give you feedback on your charging system.
I did a similar type of thing when I left the lights on. As Archer stated above the trickle charger wont charge the battery back up from being dead, I used a deep cycle car battery charger on low amps to give the battery a charge and all was good again.
Start with the battery.. Get a $25 volt meter from Walmart or OReillys. Fully charge your battery again. Test with volt meter. It should read 12 or more volts. Could be a simple battery replacement. Some batteries don't last 4 years depending on how they are cared for. Could also be bad cable connection. Once (if) you get it running check the charging system voltage regulator, stator. There are threads that tell you how to do it yourself.
Then tell us whats happening and we can go from there.
Yeah put a new battery in it, not like your going to do it again after the fright this experience has put you through. It should reset itself. Bench charge the new battery till it greens up then install it. Make sure you set the charger to a low amperage somewhere around 2 amps. It'll take a few hours to green up but, don't be in a hurry. The first few charged on a new battery sets the stage for how long it's going to be in service.....
