I recently bought the white diamond solo spring saddle and corresponding installation kit for my 2013 Street Bob FXDB. What looked like it would take maybe an hour or two has now gone into its 5th hour of trying to assemble.
I have emailed Harley Davidson about their instructions, as they are not only not helpful, but show very small pictures, but I am wondering if anyone knows of places or links that could help.
Any feedback would be great. I was really excited to put this onto my bike, and so far it has only proven to be a huge pain in my ***, and it was rather expensive too.
Specifically I am asking if anyone is aware of any alternative directions or sources to use to assemble it. We have been noticing that some of the parts are not aligning on my bike either.
Make sure you are putting the bolts into the right holes. It is a pretty easy kit to install and it looks as if it installs into the retaining bots for the batter retaining boy and electrical panel box. I could see where it wouldn't align if you didn't put the bolts in the right holes. I would lover to help you further but this thread won't progress any further unless you post some pictures of how you have it set up now or where you are at in the assemble so we can see where exactly you are messing up
Yes, that was my experience with HD also. All they can do is confirm that the kit you bought is the correct kit number, and therefor, it -does- fit. Because it's the right kit. So it fits.
If it doesn't fit, they consult their Holy Fitment Chart and conclude that (a) you don't have the motorcycle you think you have, or (b) you don't have the kit you think you have. Because the right kit is right and it fits. Any further discussion only confuses them.
Luckily, all you have to do is take some pictures, post them and explain the problem, and someone here will have some suggestions. Just guessing, but I would bet you'll need a hammer and a grinder somewhere in the mix.
