I'm leaving on Thursday morning for Lake George, NY and Americade.....a rally with anywhere from 50,000 - 70,000 bikes. I have new pipes (V&H Big Radius), Fuelpak, and Arlen Ness Big Sucker stage on order. I just received the UPS tracking E-mail that tells me that some/all are at the UPS depot 10 miles away, but scheduled for Thursday delivery.
Would you:
A. If they're delivered tomorrow (Wednesday), install them tomorrow night, knowing that if you have difficulty you can alway run to the dealership on Thursday.
B. Wait until you get home. (my wife's choice)
(if you can't tell......I'm leaning toward A and looking for encouragement and/or words of wisdom)
A.would be an ok choice as long as you have time to test drive you bike before you leave for the rally. Someone once told me to never put on new things on your bike and then leave immediately on a long trip.
As tempting as "A" is, personally, I'd go for "B", only because the problems of not doing everything right might mean no ride to Americade or worse, breaking down on the way there or at Lake George and you just know that the repairs there will be pretty steep. Wait until you have more than a couple of hours and enjoy the hell out of it,
A is very tempting but 1 It will always take you longer to get it done than you think it willand 2 if you have any trouble your wife will never let you forget it.
words of wisdom come from UPS. They say delivery onThursday.
Have someone at your address to accept delivery,
install these items when you return from your trip.
How many miles, are you ridingto the rally??
