Thanks for the info... on another note, or the same note later in the tune. Been looking thru old posts and see many references to the JWSpeaker 8690 lights selling for around $300. However, when I search, I find the 8690M now at $420 ish and the adaptive 8690A at $699. Has there been an upgrade since '16 or am I just looking in all the wrong spots?
Look at the pictures, the horizontal lines on the bottom instead of the little parking lamp LED that Daymakers have. It looks like the same thing as the Amazon link previously posted for $51.99, same horizontal lines. Like I said, if you're buying fake... get the cheap one. If all these had been out a few years ago before I ponied up $399 for a Daymaker I would have bought a knockoff.
Well.... I bit the bullet and got the 8690M. I'll let y'all know how the install goes when it shows up. Anyone know if I need anything else or does it come plug n play? I can wire the connector, but any additional hardware req'd?
half price sale right now, additional 10% off for your first order and free shipping. So far I cant complain, 10x better than the stock light. Very very happy with it for the price.
Well... THAT was easy. Got my bulb today, installed it... and it's really friggin' bright.
I was going to take a couple pics of the change, but the whole job took maybe 10 minutes and that included 5 minutes of drinking beer, feeling superior and admiring my new light.
I bought the Amazon Daymaker for $50. It was a pain getting it stuffed back into the bucket and then getting the ring tightened down - I could of used an extra pair of hands. But - it works great with more light and less heat (I swapped it out after riding home from work and that stock light is HOT!)
I tried a Amazon/Chinese knockoff for my 5 3/4 Low Rider. Not sure if I got a bad one or if my auxiliary lights caused the problem. The light worked fine but the high beam indicator light stayed on regardless of whether I was operating high or low beams. I ended up sending it back and now have a Custom Dynamics TruBeam that works flawlessly.
I'm using the TruBeam as well. Love it. I installed the module to make the halo work, it also allows low beams to be on as well as highs when high beams are activated. Last week I finally got to use high beams for awhile, after 20-25 minutes the red security light came on. When I pulled codes I had b2137 which refers to a sensor seeing voltage from the low beam while highs are on. (Which is accurate). Have you seen this?
