I have read several posts here about pipes and slip ons but would like to ask some specifice advice based on what I think I'd like.
My machine is an 07 low rider and I have no desire to mess with the bikes performance much. I don't like the fully open sound nor do I like the factory mufflers either. I'd read that the dyno power slip ons hold their chrome well and that is important to me. I want the bike to remain as close to factory tune as possible at least for the mean time.
Given these criteria can anyone give me some advice on what to buy.
Same bike as you, Vance and Hines Straightshot HS slip-ons. Everyone likes the sound of them and it's not so loud that the neighbors complain in the mornings. I don't run the quiet baffles, but I know others out there do. That might bring it down a little more to what you're looking for. $185 off eBay, half-hour to install.
I personally have the cycle shacks and really like 'em. They are good and deep with out being dumb loud. I have also heard good things about rush slips.
I ordered some Rush 2" slip-ons for similar reasons. No need to add any piggbacked fuel management system and no plans on getting crazy with any other performance mods. Rush told me that a download (or any tuner) was not needed if no mods were made to A/C and the baffle size was kept to 2" or smaller. Still waiting for 'em so I can't comment on the sound other than what they have posted on their website. http://www.epiflex.com/ A lot of folks in this forum run 'em.
I am having problems with my online sources. J&P only list through 06 and Dennis Kirk allows me to select my bike but then tells me they have absolutely nothing for it. Any suggestions?

Same set up but with the 'quiet baffles' ... just takes the edge off the harsh/tinny sounds

95 through 07 Dyna's are the same as far as slip-ons. I have the Cycle Shack MT-129 tapered slip-ons. If you want a complete system, you need the o2 bungs on the head pipes which would be 06 and up Dyna's.
