Recently installed a set of progressive 49mm monotube kit and the darn thing makes a clunk sound when going over bumps in the road. Has anyone had these installed and have the same problem? It's annoying as hell and just doesn't sound normal. Will be calling progressive to see if this can be resolved. For now I wouldn't recommend.
Check the bolts that connect the gas tank to the motorcycle! One on the front of the tank and one on the rear of the tank. Nothing to do with the forks but if one or both are loose that might be the source of your clunk.
Kind of like OldEnuf2NoBtr says!

Reason: correction
Yep, +1 agree re checking for loose gas-tank bolts.
I swore, swore that it was the forks that were clunking, that's where the sound seemed to be coming from. I went over everything, tore my hair out, but it was the front tank bolt.
No clunk, but mine started making a metal on metal squeak followed by a "click" on compression. To be honest, it always felt mushy and unstable to me to begin with. Previous owner had it installed, so no warranty for me. I'm 6'2" and 300# so maybe I was asking too much of the one size fits all solution. I ended up pulling the monotube kit out and going with some Heavy Duty springs.

yes yes that's the noise I get under compression it clicks /clunks when the forks are compressed too fast such as going over bumps fast it's so frustrating
