Whats your engine setup? I have an '07 Street Bob with a 96" 6 speed and don't have a tach so I try to keep it under 100 because I can't tell what rpm's I am running.

A tach isn't needed just to go over 100 mph. You are going to be in 6th gear (or 5th on older bikes) anyway.

That's funny. When I had my VMax I was the one everybody was trying to catch. These days when I see a VMax, R1, Hayabusa, etc. I just wave and smile. You're running 115 or so on your Harley and the R1 is just hitting its stride. One little flick of the throttle and he disappears like the starship Enterprise going into warp drive.

This^^^^^^^*
A buck 10-15 @ 3,800 is an R1 laugh in...
Been playing with imports for a decade (don't even respond to HD pretenders any more), and the ONLY way I win, is jumping them at a light, up to an 1/8 mile...(maybe a 1/4 if the rider sucks).

Way too much weight, and not nearly enough HP on your Dyna, but I like your
Attempt.......shows *****.

Owned a 2003 'Busa for 8 years. Amazingly fast bikes! I always thought that the only thing that you can beat with a stock Harley, is another Harley. That said, at 60 years old, I don't have the need for speed that I used to have. The Low Rider has plenty for this stage of my life, and I have always loved the looks and sound of a Harley.

I know these HD's can't REALLY hang with sport bikes, but it's fun to push them as hard or as far as you can just to make them smile a little bit. It's fun when you're hitting twisties or lane splitting and Sport bike rider is all tucked in tight in that "aerodynamic" position and they look back and see you sitting upright relaxed and comfortable keeeping up just fine. Something about pushing a big, heavy clunky machine to it's limits and making it do stuff ya not supposed to do that's satisfying. ANYONE can can rip around on a sport bike, but not everyone can hit twisties hard at 70-90 or lane split at high speeds on a heavy cruiser.
