You do not select a cam depending on what carb you are running. The cam selection is made by what characteristics the cam has. Low end, mid range torque? Or are you after mid range, top end HP? I built a VERY reliable, street-able 80 inch Evo. Got 90,000 miles - trouble free. 10 over Keith Black 10:1-forged pistons, Andrews EV-27 cam, adjustable push rods and a slightly modified OEM CV 40 carb. SU's are OK on OLD Harley's but the stock CV 40 is very easy to tune with fantastic results.

Problem is most ridings done in the 2500-3500 rpm range, nice cam for a stop light hotrod but about useless for a daily rider.
