Default Remove a broken exhaust stud

im working on my 2002 softail, and i am removing old stock exhaust for big radius 2:1. the last stud on the back pipe the nut stopped near the end and after soaking it in oil , and tried some heat it still broke the stud but leaving some sticking out. the way it broke though i can not start a nut on it and i do not have any dies. any ideas on what i can do before i try to brake it flush and drill it

PB Blaster for eating though rust / loosening stuck bolts / studs (best I've found)

As for actually removing the stud

Vice Grips
Weld a nut edge wise for something to grab and twist
Left handed drill bit
Easy out

Welcome to the Forum from Colorado!

Can you get Vise Grips on it? Probably not considering the area it's in.
There are several stud removal tools available as well. Get one of those and apply some heat to the area around the stud and hopefully it will come out.

BTW, you put your question in the Dyna section. Softail section is one door down.

Is there enough there to gab onto w/vice-grips, or tack-weld a nut so you can back it out?

Best way is to get easy-out and drill/extract...

Some of the stud removal tools work with a ratchet and tighten more as you turn.
If you end up cutting the rest of it off flush, use the flange as a guide by bolting down on the good stud. This will give you a fighting chance at staying centered on the stud as you drill.

A good penetrating oil is homemade. ATF + Acetone. Google it. Testing is conclusive.

If you find yourself having to resort to a drill, consider a proper bushed drill guide. Jims makes one, probably others as well.

Can you slot it with a dremel, and then get a big long flat screwdriver, I done this on an old Honda ages ago.
