Default Anyone using a 'drivers' backrest ?

I bought one from 'Protec' but it was so uncomfortable I returned it. Found it 'digging' right into my damaged discs and couldn't adjust it at all. I know Corbin and Mustang supply them with their seats but I am looking for a cheaper alternative. If I replace my two-up seat with a solo I could maybe make one up myself along the lines of the 'Grasshopper' backrest I used on my Metric bikes. So anyone have any experience to pass on ? Thanks...b.

I've got an L4-5 degeneration going on and I used to ride with a backrest on my Road King all the time. I don't appear to need it on my SB for some strange reason unless I did too long of a hike (literally). I've got a reduced reach Mustang with a backrest left over from my wife's bike (also a dyna), but used it only a couple times. I mainly ride with the stock seat (see pic) as I find it very comfortable most of the time. I keep it around just in case I ever need to do a longer ride. Anything over 200 miles is a long ride to me anymore.

I had a Protac backrest and it was OK. But a switched to a Mustang wide touring solo with their adjustable backrest and it's so much better. I found mine used in like new condition on eBay for a fantastic price.

I am using this back rest / luggage rack combo. Its a Fehling product imported from Germany. I really like it and its pretty sturdy as well.

Mustang vintage wide solo w/br also. No back problems here but I like how on windy days I can keep a really light grip on the bars because my torso can be pushed back only so far.

Mustang wide with back rest here. Kinda saved my riding, without it, even a short ride would give my back aches and pains
