Hey man........those new forwards look really coool. Can't wait til we can get our LowRider hooked up. At least the job is easier on the 03 bikes........Enjoy!
They are charging me an arm and a leg here in NY. Service said it would take them 5 hours to put it in. Either they learned better now or theyre just charging to much. I got one quote from diff service in my area for 185. BUt i think the guy dont even know that you need to take the primary out and the it involves changing gaskets and stuff. I just nned them installed. Just wondering how much and how long it took for others to have their forward control installed.
Hello all... new guy here, and thought I'd add to the discussion.
The whole primary/forward control issue has to do with the '06 CruiseDrive 6 speed only. All others ('05 back) do NOT require primary chaincase removal. Also of note are 5 special bolts with integral sealing washers (they hold on the inner primary) that are one-use only pieces and are NOT in the forward control kits (at least not yet). My local dealer did mine, charge me 2 hrs labor ($150), but said all subsequent installs will be 4.5 hours (mine was the first '06 they did). I would have done it myself (I do 95% of my own work), but figured they were the best ones to do it, in case of any warranty issues later.
As to the design.... it's a six-speed and the entire primary is MUCH larger than the previous 5-speed. There's simply no room.
Pics below (or links to them, anyways..)
I love the look of your bike. What pipes are those and what did you do to your intake? I dont have the denim black but damn that looks awesome. I may have to copy your intake and pipes- good job bro- the bike looks great!!
