Hey guys, I've been having some weird shifting problems for the last 500 miles or so that seem to be getting worse. I tried researching this issue and haven't had any luck. Hoping someone here can help
When I'm downshifting from 3rd to 2nd, I basically get stuck in 2nd until I let the clutch out again. Before I let the clutch out, there is a ton of play in the shifter and I can't downshift to 1st and can't go into Neutral. It's just kind of a dead floppy shifter until I let the clutch out, then I can go into N or 1st.
That's my best description. Hopefully someone can help me figure out what's going on. The clutch adjustment feels perfect. I've tried adjusting it both ways as well and it didn't change a thing.
more info that might help. this happens when I'm downshifting and slowing to a stop, not when I'm stopped. In 2nd, i would describe the shifter as "limp"
A couple of things to look for 1) is the shift outside of the trans. slipping on the splined shift shaft? 2) this is in depth, the shift pawl may have slipped out of adjustment. Maybe some one with trans. work can help you with the shifter pawl. I think the shift lever has an allen bolt on the splined shaft.

Thanks man. just checked and the shifter is still tight on the splines. the allen bolt is still in place.
If your under warranty, get to a dealer. There are three springs in the six speed tranny, the loss of any one will make for strange behavior, the good news is the parts are cheap IF it's a spring issue, the bad news is the transmission comes apart to replace some of these springs.
Also check to see that all parts of your shift linkage are completely free, with no tightness or binding. A little binding can make it so that the linkage won't return all the way, making your next shift inaccessible.
