Just about finished up with my new bars, wire bloom from first set of bars i put on had quite a bit of fraying and I had to cut some of it back to mend some wires.
So what I am wondering is if anyone happens to know the size of the wiring bloom used in handlebars, i.e. 1/4" or 3/4" opening.
I found some bloom online, but not sure what size I would need. This will be used from where the wiring exits the handlebars and feeds into the neck of the frame.
I used two layers of 3/4" braided sleeving for all the wires coming out of the bars. You could probably go to a smaller sleeving but you will have to remove the connectors.
Spent a good five hours this past weekend tearing apart the harness, than trying to figure out how to dress it down to two main bundles and only on the left side of the bike. I took all the factory sleeving off which made the bundles smaller. Then I spliced in extra wire for the indicator lights and ran those down with the wires from the hand controls into the frame than back up to the console. Before they use to come out of the indicator lights and ran over the triple clamps up into the console. I used a nylon type braided sleeving that I got from a local electronics store, pretty much the same stuff they use on the 2007 and up bikes. Made a plug out of JB Weld, sanded it flat, sprayed it black, than wet sanded it to match the dull finish of the rubber frame grommet on the right side of the bike.
