I've hade the opportunity to ride a few different Harley's the last few months. An 09 Roadglide, a 2014 Switchback, a 2008 Ultra Classic AND
a 2018 Heritage.
Plus I've been riding the wife's 03 Heritage rather than my 00.
For LONG term comfort, the UC wins hands down.
The most fun was that damn Dyna Switchback. Sportster like handling. Heritage like comfort. I liked it better than the 18 Heritage (Straight up!!!!)
My only complaint is the vibes @ 70 mph. 5th or 6th, it doesn't matter.
I know there's a fix. I'd like to ride one that's had the fix done.
I have decided I want a fairing though. A Batwing !!! So throw one on a SB and that might be the perfect machine.
Like the looks of the RG, but that fairing doesn't work as well (for freeway speeds wind protection for the rider) as the Bat. Just doesn't. Sorry!!
So yeah !!! The Switchback would be in my top 1 or 2 for a new(er) HD for me

Reason: fat fingers
I'm a fan of the '02. But I might be a bit biased -
But if you're looking, here's one with a turbo for sale: http://www.roughriderhd.com/default....OwnedInventory
This is the dealer's personal bike. He bought it new and did all the mods...

I do too bro , It is one of my favirites
Have you owned or rode a fat bob to compare?
First off, I'm betting 1k a day is a bit of an exaggeration. And even if you did this, you are probably not doing it regularly. 1k a day (24 hours) would be 14 hours if you DIDN'T stop (at 70mph). Ever hear of the saddle sore challenge? Yeah not saying it can't be done, saying your probably not doing it regularly. If i'm wrong, and you are some crazy dude that does 1k 1 day trips every weekend stick with the bagger.
Second, "fast and hard" is relative. Are you riding your bagger at high speeds (say 90+) and are you scraping your floor boards on every turn (in the canyons)? Is your bagger limiting your riding ability?
Doing 90+ on a dyna for an extended period is not easy. You turn into a parachute. Fairing can fix this but i'm not sure if that is what your after (looks wise). Wind at this speed will also toss the bike around more vs a bagger (due to weight). Doing this on a Dyna is possible (trust me on this one ) but the bike needs to be setup for it and you need to be conditioned and ready.
In regards to the fat bob...better braking is true vs some other Dyna(s). This is due to the dual disc brakes. If you end up getting something with a single disc, you'll instantly notice a lack in braking power compared to your bagger. There are options to help with this, just something to keep in mind.
IMO...you want a dyna to ride fast and hard that can do it out of the box get a Low Rider S, FXDX, or something that someone else has put a bunch of money into. Otherwise, whatever you get you'll need to put money into suspension (at the very least).
Sorry bro , I put miles but its 1000+ km a day some days not all
Lets I only did 3 of those days since June when I bought it
Most rides are 300 km or 190 Miles I believe.
I handle the RGU ultra well tourpack or not I ride it well and it does not prevent me from doing what I want in the twisties or 150 km /per hr.
Thanks for the input I will search for something dual disc brakes
K-weaver is right about long highway rides on my bike. Lots of wind that builds your upper body strength up. You can wear a full face helmet on highway rides which helps. My little quarter fairing takes a little wind off my chest. But I personally love the wind in my face. All depends what kind of riding you want to do.
Maybe keep what you have and add a used Dyna? The FXDC (Super Glide) is a great choice. They were 96ci until 2014 which was the last year but those got the 103ci. The 103 can be hard to find in some areas used. Add some floor boards for comfort if you want but I prefer the added control the mid mount pegs give.
