Default Scary clicking Chain Case Noise

She is an 08 FXDC Dyna with 76000 miles. So with the clutch In while in gear and backing up "running or not" I get a loud clicking noise. If I shift it into Neutral I hear no noise. I recently changed the clutch, the spring plate all of the friction disks and spacers. Used Barnett Kevlar. with that said I disassembled the primary. Removed and inspected the clutches and found no sign of wear. I Removed the chain tension'er and found wear on the plastic. The chain appeared tight I had to use a small screwdriver to get the zip-tie around it. I pulled the Primary Chain and inner case. The bearing looks ok, I'm thinking about replacing it for GP. The Forward drive belt sprocket is good the drive belt and the Rear or wheel sprocket are toast. I plan on replacing both. Now when I pulled the the Primary chain. I rolled the tire with the bike in gear no nose. I went back and looked at the chain case fluid and it appears hazzy, Looks like my biggest problem is I still have no idea what the problem was/is. The HD Service guys says replace it all let the bank sort it out. Anybody have any ideas?

Following this to see what you find out but have loads of questions.

Is the clicking consistent / totally dependent on the rear wheel rotating. So, it doesn't get any faster when the engine is running? --> Main shaft side of the clutch pack.

There is a bunch of stuff rotating in the transmission when the rear wheel is moving. In gear, the main shaft will also try to rotate. Clutch pulled, plates separated, basket sits still or rotates with the engine. (Assuming the chain is on).

Pulling this out of my rear end, but thinking our loud, if the clicking is consistent with the rear wheel no matter what, something attached to the main shaft might hitting the inside of the primary when the clutch is pulled? Otherwise cannot account for the lack of change when the engine is running.....

Best of luck, following, waiting to hear what you find ..

EDIT: Check the inside of your derby cover for damage, the pressure plate might be hitting when the clutch is pulled.
If that's it, the new plates are thicker than what you had or possibly the clutch pack / basket is not seated on the idle shaft properly.

So with the clutch pack removed and the bike on a lift I rotated the rear tire. it did not make noise. The only indication of case contact is fwd of the chain tension'er. I got scratches on both the inner and outer cases, same place. I inspected the drive belt and found that the teeth are cracked on the following edge. So I'm thinking three things bad the Primary belt tension'er, drive belt and sprockets. I took my pictures to Larry McBride aka Spidermans shop in Newport News Virginia. He took one look at the rear drive sprocket and belt and said that was my problem. I'm hoping he is right but it may take me awhile to prove it. We got 3 stealer-ships within 20 mile and none of them have the drive belt and sprockets. guess most people are making the time verse instant gratification at the dealership chooses these days. So its internet time.
