I traded my Dyna a couple years ago for a Street Glide. Now I'm thinking of going back to a Dyna. The bagger is nice but I kind of miss a stripped down hot rod of a bike.
Anyone gone from a bagger to a dyna? Good choice? Bad choice? ??
Just swapped back to a low rider s after many years with baggers. It has the fxrt fairing and lowers, so wind management is quite good. Love the light bike, sure is fun!
Went from road glide back to a dyna in form of fxdls. Loved the bike and miss it at times. But it's more nimble and fun to throw around for my commute and around town riding. Miss the tunes on occasion more than anything else. Well that and the mpg it got compared to the built 110 i have now. Can't keep from twisting the throttle and playing a lot. But in the end it depends on the person some people say once you get a bagger you don't go back. If I didn't ride mine daily and in traffic I would probably still have mine. But this bike is so much fun I don't see it going anywhere.

If you miss the music, Id suggest looking at an in helmet Bluetooth stereo. I have a Schuberth C3 Pro with their stereo. Works great, plus I can hear my GPS prompts if Im running it on my phone. I can also talk with other people in my group, which is nice. Obviously this is a moot point if you are wearing a skid plate or what not.
Owned and road every model Bagger for the last 15yrs and just recently purchased fxdls. Run a helmet with blue tooth so still have tunes. Absolutely love the dyna. Put 2400 miles on it going to sturgis and it was fine. First time Ive ever been to sturgis and didnt leave wishing I had a different bike. Recently rented a 2017 ultra classic for a day just to see what all the hype is about on new motor and ****ing hated the bike!! So much so that I returned it early and rode mine. Have I mentioned I love my dyna? 👍😂
I am contemplating this swap now. Have a 2017 Road Glide, Wife has a 2015 dyna that goes unridden. I have ridden the dyna and it’s fun. Thinking of selling the RG and just keeping the dyna.
When I rebuilt my '89 FXR in 1999 I bought an Electra Glide Standard to fill in for it while it was down.
The Electra Glide was OK but it got pretty boring, pretty quick, I put a set of cams in it to liven it up but in the end it was a boring, old mans bike.
I ride the wheels off of my Dyna these days and would never consider going back to a bagger.
All but two of the FXR's are sold now and those two will be gone this year...My Dyna is set up very well and handles every bit as good as my FXR's ever did.
I have a 2008 FXD fixin to turn 90K miles , and i consider it one of the best overall platforms in Harleys line up . Takes me all of 10 minutes to put my Bags on it , Quick release windshield ,and hang a Tee bag on the
sissy bar and i am ready to roll long distance . This bikes been from Florida to South Jersey and back i believe 13 times now and it handles it well . Takes 10 minutes to shed the bags , windscreen , etc and its back to its street fighting mode .. Heck of a great bike , and VERY reliable .
