That's kinda what I've done. I have the HD backpack and it holds a ton, plus a day pack top bag. I can load up everything I need to go away for a week or so. Guess I'll just keep using that stuff.

I've measured the length of SG bags and that shouldn't hit the exhaust, but how to fit it around the shocks. I haven't found anything aftermarket that makes a bigger hardbag for a SB that is bolt on.
There is not a bolt on bigger bag for the switchback. The reason the other places you have been say not for the switchback is due to the mounting points specific to the switchback and are different than the other dynas.

You will either need to modify the bags and install the mounting plate from the oem bags, or change there rear of the bike to make it like standard dynas and then get something to fit that.

It has been done, several examples on this site and the pro boards site. But it is not a plug and play option.

Then check out the price. You could nearly buy another bike with the price

Would you or anyone please help provide links to these examples? I was unable to find them from the search... I'm so on the fence between the Road King versus the DYNA Switchback and I know the Road king will be 10x more comfortable once we get above 50mph but most of my riding will be around town and city riding with the occasional weekend trip or overnight trip..but the biggest drawback is the Dyna switchback bags are pathetically small... . And of course the Dyna vibration is awful but man it handles so much better and flickable and nimble around town compared to the road king. It doesn't feel very heavy at all especially since I'm coming from a 500lb Triumph Bonneville. I'm open to advice from all you experienced HOG riders...

I would get the RK. While I like my Switchback the RK is a wholly more practical machine.

Have you ridden the RK? I've ridden both and I just couldn't get over how the DYNA SB felt so light and nimble..and I assume both having the 103, the SB would be a lot quicker since the weight difference is almost 100lbs...

I have not been on a RK. I've had my bike over 5 years now. I got rid of the vibration problems, mine were issue with the stock exhaust, replaced it. I have travelled with my bike and the bigger bags would have been a blessing. Even around town and on my commute, I ride year round, the bags would have been very welcome. I have made due and come to accept the bag limitations, I put a touring pack on my bike. It works great, but I would prefer to ride without it.

The SB is good at many things. If you go with it, I think you will like it.
