Default 17”spoke front wheel.?

Does anyone know where I could find a 17” front wheel. I have a 2012 dyna superglide custom that I would love to match the front wheel to the back. I am running spoked wheels. I thought about just getting a rear wheel and flipping it to work on the front. Would prefer Gen Harley if possible.

Anyone know if sportsters have a 17” front?

Thanks

would have thought the simplest method would be to have a 17" rim laced onto the original hub.

That's what I did, but I wanted a non-stock width, aluminum rim, and stainless spokes, so original was never an option anyway.

Roundabout a $500 wheel, but I feel it was worth it.

Buchanan can lace you just about any rim to hub you want.

I don't believe using a 17" rear wheel laced to the front hub would even be possible on a Super Glide. Pretty sure the mid glide front end is to narrow for the rim and definitely to narrow for the rubber that fits it. I used 16" wheels on the front and back, I love the way it handles.

using rear wheel sizes on front isn't really a good way to improve handling anyway...most sports bikes run a 120 front tyre on a 17" rim and outhandle harleys massively...wider than 130 would be a backwards step

Clearly you didn’t read everything! My response was to the OP suggestion of using a rear wheel in the front. Now if you still believe that putting a 4.5” wide rim with a 160-170 tire on it would fit on a mid glide front end, i would like to see the pics of it.There are a few people on here that have 150 or wide tires on their Dyna’s, they also happen to be running wide glide or fat bob trees to allow it. Those guys can let you know how they handle. The tires sizes I have on my Street Bob are the exact same size as those found on a Fat Bob and I have Fat Bob trees. Many Dyna owners argue that the Fat abob is the best handling Dyna, I don’t know myself. Also, if a harley was built with the same geometry as a sport bike, the sport bike probably wouldn’t out handle a the harley as well as it does now. Two yotally different bike designs and functional usage. Might as well be comparing a F-150 Raptor and Bigfoot when it come to performance level.

My front rim is 4.5 or 4.75 with a 150/80-17 and neatly clears (no excessive space) the sliders with wide glide trees. A 160 would fit...170+ would be a squeeze.

Regardless, I was unable to locate a modern front tire wider than 150.

The mid glide is 1" narrower, so I think a 150 would be a real squeeze.

Kinda moot anyway since the OP never (afaik) stated a width goal.
