My 78 shovel had bad plug wires which would cause it to run like you (the op) said yours did. When I rebuilt the motor, no damage at all was noted.

I think your safe.

Most you guys are acting like a bunch of old ladies in assisted living. Telling others what not to do then doing that very thing. Pathetic!

How do you figure? KevinR was being an ******* and he got dogpiled. On the other hand, the OP's question was adequately answered.

For the record, the vast majority of us won't just jump into the middle of a thread for the express purpose of humiliating someone who's new to the game. A lot of us will, however, jump to the defense of someone who's being unfairly rousted. And that, in my opinion, was the case in this thread. And apparently I'm not the only one who felt that way.
