Default Starter ring gear replacement

Hi,

My starter ring gear has a few teeth missing and starter grinds a bit. Stock for a 2008 FXDC is 106T I believe.

I read that it might be better to go down to a 84T but I cant find one for a 2007 + Dyna. All the 84T sets are up to 2006 big twins (excluding Dyna). It seems the starter changed in 2007. Anyone change their ring gear to a 84T and can let me know where to find?

I have a Fuel Moto 107" with 10.5 compression, with compression releases.

Edit - I found this Compu-Fire 10/84 Starter Gear Set 54003 on Amazon that lists the 2007-2013 FXDC as fitting. But when I go to the Compu-Fire site, it only lists it up to 2006. While on the Powersport Superstore site, it states it fits; but, on JP Cycles, it says it does not fit.

Anyone use the Compu-Fire 10/84 54003 on a 2007+ Dyna?

Thanks

Changing the tooth count on ring gear seems dicey to me...but sometimes I am surprised.

Maybe time for an Evolution Industries clutch basket with the high quality ring gear that comes with it???
