Default Low Rider S Finally Back Together

Well, bike is fixed and back on the road. I had pulled the wheels off to get painted and when I put it back together I reused the pulley bolts. I guess they back out and I snapped them, all five. Destroyed my wheel and pulled and voided my warranty.

Got a new pulley and wheel, had my painter repaint the wheel, paint the pulley gloss black, and while it was down, gave him my fairing and my electrical cover to paint as well.

Got the parts back on tonight and am absolutely in love with it. Gary's Custom Fab out of Beachwood,N.J. killed it. Glad I did the fairing because I feel like It pulled it all together.

Shitty , about the wheel . Lots of people probably chewed you out about reusing the bolts. Looks like you handled it . The bike turned out nice.

Did you use Loctite 272 on the new bolts?

Asking for a friend ?

There are plenty of single use fasteners on vehicles , some can be used more than once .

In this application , what are you willing to risk ?

Thanks everyone! I literally couldn't picture a better layout for the paint job if I tried (of course that's just my personal preference).

I ended up having the dealership install everything so that my bike would be back fully warrantied.

I just had no idea these were one time use bolts. Once they are used once, the threads won't be as tight the second time using them causing them to back out.

I was doing 140+ on a highway a couple minutes before they snapped. Snapped at 20 mph. I couldn't even be mad because if they snapped at those high speeds,I wouldn't be here.
