I just picked up a used '17 street bob after having to sell off my road glide last year. Glad to have one of the last of the dynas. I don't think I'll ever sell it, but rather buy another bagger in the future....far future
I remember when the wide glide hadn't yet been soiled with a "D" in it's name. Long live the FXWG...
I dont think Harley ever soiled the wide glide. All and all I think they did a good job keeping the name going over the years. I hope the dont disgrace it like Pontiac did to the g.t.o. But the original fxwg guys dont like the dyna version. The early dyna guys dont like the 2010 and up wide glides. It is funny!
As much as I love the first wg I could not part with my 2012.
The only justified beef I can see with the newer ones is the change of rear fender and loss of apes.
Mini apes and bobbed fender were great features, I agree. But the 2010 change was great one done with respect to the wide glide I think.Bottom line is the wide glide was a great run.

Agreed. And I think the change was necessary to keep the name relevant in today's market. It was a dated look. I really like the bars, but I wish they had done something with more flair on the fender. It's a little too bland.
