Hello and welcome! I love my fxdwg 97 ,glad I didnt buy a softail of the same vintage! my self I bought an old honda v65 first and road it for a year to see if I would enjoy riding ($3000.00) not ($26000.00) cdn .droped it once that year (sure glade it wasn't fxdwg) best advice is to ask yourself what type of riding you are going to do touring or bar hopping , fxdwg's need lots to be a touring bikes! 1up or 2up? I bought 2 seat , saddle bags ,wind sheild and aluminum wheels .We ride 2up and use it to go on holidays .read lots .touring bikes are cool to, it just depends on how they are set up. the best desisions are hard ones

Hello and welcome to the forum. I ride a 2004 Wide Glide and I too love it. I put saddlebags on it and apes. I haven't done much touring but I do take some pretty long weekend trips and find it very comfortable. I don't have a windshiel and don't really want one but I'm sure it would be nice. I do want to get progressive shocks and a rack for the rear fender so I can put on a teabag without scratching the paint. With those changes, I'll take it anywhere I have the time to go.
