Searched but couldn’t find anything, so forgive me if this has been covered. I have V&H Big Radius 2-1 with catalytic converters. I was wondering if anyone knows if the cats are in the head pipes or at the end with the baffle as I would like to remove them!
Thanks!
I'd guess it is right at the joint (just before or after). Best way to find it is to just take the end section off and look. It should look like a honeycomb.
Can't give any advice on the cat, but I would honestly leave it or change pipes if it really bothers you. I just pulled mine out to see what it would be like without it. I spent forever trying to get that baffle back in and lined up. It is an absolute pain to reinstall.
I removed all the material inside my cat. It is made up of wire mesh and some heavy cotton like stuff all woven in there together. It took me about 4 hours to get it all out, using a paddle bit, long flat blade screwdriver and a long pair of needle nose pliers. Once you start you have to finish the job.. I have a 17 FXDL. It isn’t much louder without it. Not sure if it was worth it.
