Hello everyone
Im Robert Ribble from Missouri aka laptopbob61 i just got my first iron horse last week and already turning a wrench. its a 2000 Dana Super Glide, when riding with some friends i was told my brake lights were staying on so i came here for advise on my findings. i already left a commit but don't know where it went so i will leave another one here. what i found was the wire loom came loose from broken plastic clip under rear fender and tire rubbed through the loom and into the wiring was wanting to know if they offer a metal clip for the loom to prevent this from happening again.
If your suspension is lowered the tire makes contact with the fender a lot easier than if stock. Even if the shocks are stock you wouldn't want a metal clip that can dig into the rear tire.
There a a few members here that worked around that problem, so hopefully someone will chime in.

I've seen everything from bent tubing to foil tape. Kinda depends on how handy you are and what methods or materials you're comfortable with.
Zip tie anchors (either epoxied or 3M double stick)
Metal or plastic tube (either solid or slit lengthways) fixed to fender by epoxy, JB Weld, or whatever.
Weather proof tape (hvac foil, etc)
Assorted industrial metal or plastic anchors from places like McMaster-Carr
Even alternate wire routing and/or lighting.
Previous owner of my 99 did a lot 2 up riding with standard shocks and that wiring was TORE UP from multiple repairs over many seasons. I guess he got so tired of messing with it that last repair was just cheap hookup wire, twisted & and taped. Lol.
