GET RID of those original ANEMIC and worthless H-D cam chain tensioners and cams- .....and go to an S&S Gear Driven Cam setup along with an S&S Camchest setup.....you'll be free for many miles and smiles of non issues and other anomolies related to that original cam chain and adjusment shoe scenario
Maybe you can do the work for him in your "shop" unless you're just to busy with your police, fighter pilot, dd2114, 81, riding around the equator on your S&S (Square and seement) tires or celebrating anyone of your 9 birthdays?
Gear drives are the cat's meow if you within the shaft run out for this particular set up. The tolerances escape me right but I'm sure some helpful member will chime in. I put in a 95" kit with some SE203 cams, this upgrade helped with two up riding then we got a touring model also had a hybrid cam plate with better oil pump and hyd. cam chain shoes installed for longevity. I think I'm done with that engine. It's an 02 FXD and I won't get back what I've put into it, great bike though.
You don't want anymore than .003" crank run out when using gear drive cam. Now keep in mind Harley now allows up to .012" run out in the bike.
