can I use the stock cables/wires on my 2007 street bob?
if not, and I get the extension cables kit, can I run the cables/wires thru the bars? I want braided lines but they're too expensive so I'd rather run it thru the bars..
what else do you guys reccomended for this install?
To make sure you need to measure the length of your cables with string and then mock up the height to see. I would suspect with 14" and wanting to run them in the bars you will need cable extensions. You will want to check the throttle cable and brake line as well.
I haven't measured them, but I pulled off what I'm pretty sure are 16" apes from my 07 Street Bob that the last owner installed. They're definitely longer than the stock mini apes. They were internally wired. The harness was not cut into or spliced, and there were no cable extenders. The clutch cable, throttle cable, and front brake line were all replaced with longer versions. Something like 2-4". I can measure everything out tomorrow if you want.
its hit and miss. some can some cant for whatever odd reason. i had to get new cables with my 14s on stock risers. it was about an inch too short for my throttle side.
