Default Engine Temperature after Cam Change

Just swapped from stock cams to Andrews 57H. Would you expect a dramatic increase in engine operating temperature with this change? I do have a new tune from Fuel Moto that has been flashed to the ECM.

I would actually think that it would run cooler as more air and fuel going through....smarter minds then me might have a true response to this...

By enriching up your air/fuel ratio, there are 2 positive things happening. 1 - bike runs better. 2 - temperatures go down. If you just changed to an Andrews 57H, it should be running cooler. Might need a different fuel map.

Went to an Andrews 48, tune from fuel moto, and removed the cat in the pipe.
Can't tell which mod made the biggest difference but the motor is noticeably running cooler.
I'm thinking about adding an oil cooler & changing pulley over the winter.

You should be able to feel a difference with the engine breathing better with the cams & new tune.
It's kind of hard to tell when the weather is super hot. Hot is hot no matter what you do.

Bike had a D&D Fat Cat exhaust w/ Louvered Baffles, SE Heavy Breather intake, and oil cooler with the stock cams. PV typically reported temps of 265-268 degrees unless stuck idling in traffic in the Texas summer, then it could go as high as 304 degrees. But would cool quickly once moving again.

Now with the 57H cams and new tune (plus 1 autotune session), my bike is running at 285 degrees on open interstate highway, and up to 313 on slower neighborhood streets, haven't even tried it stuck idling in traffic. Today's 200-mile trip did show an mpg improvement of over 1 mpg. Bike also pulls and sounds better.

I have emailed a map modification request to Fuel Moto that they should find in their inbox on Monday. I had thought that the autotune session might clean up the heat issue - I thought wrong. Hope there is an easy fix and that it's not another issue (like the engine sumping??).

Riding in California we have pretty hot summer months. Its been 95 to 100 for weeks it seems. Engine temp on my bike has been no hotter than it was with my 103 with s&s mr103 cams. I am running the s&s 124 kit at 10.8 to 1 with 640 cams. Temps around 280 when its hot outside. Stopped all bikes are going to heat up. I'm am running a ultracool oil cooler that is fan assisted when the oil hits 210 degrees. I have had a dyno tune. In the hands of a good tuner you are much better off than autotune or a canned map.

I've scheduled a dyno tune for this Saturday.

I have Andrews 57H cams with a Jagg slimline cooler I get 262 degrees CHT on the highway in full summer heat. Bike never reaches 300 unless I'm in bumper to bumper traffic. Also with my PowerVision, when I did my cams I had to get Dynojet to fix the tune that Fuel Moto gave me to use with my Thunderheader exhaust. Dynojet told me that the cam setting was wrong in the tune and the bike ran so poorly it was a joke. You might email them to look at it...
