F86, you may have nailed it. Feels like engine is banging on the cross member. Now to find someone who gives a ****.

I can’t believe you own the only Harley in San Diego .... cause where do the “other” people get their bikes serviced? If the dealer is no good, they must be going somewhere....

Can you duplicate the problem with the bike running and on the jiffy stand? Or does it happen when rolling and is it speed specific?

Oddly enough, I tried searching for bike shops in the San Diego area... It really did seem like there's a ton of sportbike stuff, and bizarrely few HD indys... But I agree there must be SOME!

The engine IS sucking in air! It won't run without it.

Oh, there are plenty of tire and oil changers. Moreland told me the vibration was normal. Performance chopper and Full Throttle are out of my area and I'd have to drop it off and leave it for a few days. Took it to J's Cycles, they work on Harleys, they said vibration was "Normal", said I was just tired of the bike. Called to make an appointment and they wouldn't call back. Finding them isn't the problem. Finding one who gives a damn is.

OK, this is getting bad now.
I know Oceanside is a haul for you, but Josh's Boar's Nest has done decent work.
Kennedy's Custom Cycles might be able to help also.
Last ditch effort: Oceanside Cycle Supply.

Sorry, I got nuthin in San Diego.

Hey, thanks for the help. There's another shop close to me, Industrial Cycles. Rough shop, but he diagnosed the vibration problem correctly. Gonna drop by there today.
