I mentioned this in another thread but looking to get more insight since several people run this pipe.
I installed the RR3 exhaust and found that it hits the cam cover by the "points" cover at the 5 o'clock position. To those that have this pipe already, what magic did you conjure to get it to clear the hump? I've tried contacting Bassani but haven't gotten a reply yet.
I've used both gasket styles with no clearance issues at all. Maybe I'm wrong, but this probably has something to do with your method of aligning/tightening everything... If you unbolt the pipe from the rear bracket and loosen all four of the flange nuts (like, really loose), can you move the pipe into correct alignment? It might even be easier to do this with the megaphone removed, although I haven't had any issues (and my pipe has been off numerous times).
There is a pretty wide range of position possible, in terms of how the pipe sits in the heads.
Otherwise, I guess it's possible that yours didn't come off the jig correctly, but I would really try moving it around with everything loose.

I followed the vague directions included with the exhaust and loosely connected everything, then starting at the heads and working my way back, tightening as I go with just the head pipe attached. I'm sure there's 101 ways to attach the pipe, just wondering if any found the secret sequence to getting everything to align correctly.
bassani recommends those (oe tapered ) your install method is the problem. Try crisscrossing the tightening sequence starting from bottom front jug to top rear jug and so on. Also make sure the pipe is centered with the gaskets or as close as possible. Many problems people have is they shove their exhausts down and start cranking things down, which leads to binding and broken welds!

Finally got an answer from Bassani. Basically I was told to loosely attached everything, ensure exhaust isnt hitting the case, and tighten working from back to front.

so if Im reading this correctly, its backwards of every other installation manual out there. I guess there is a chance by doing it back to front that the head wont fit into the head pipes, but who knows maybe Bassani is backwards.
