I'm at a loss y'all. I had the same issue with my 2003 FXDX and off setting it janky-like made it work. Now on my 2017 FXDB it's SUPPOSED to fit with forward controls but even if I offset, it rubs the pipe, WTH?!
I think maybe if I rotate the rod 180 degrees it MIGHT line up BUT the stock forward exhaust mount is in the way. I am not sure how to get to the 2 bolts that are in line with the frame. But again, before I go to the trouble I was hoping someone could chime in.
This thread is kind of helpful for that forward bracket. However if I go to the trouble of getting it off, it's still 50/50 whether rotating the brake rod would give me the clearance. One thing is certain, since the bracket is in the way currently, the brake rod will ride higher than normal.
At a minimum, if you have the Bassani stainless and forward controls, would you please post a picture from the same angle and perspective as mine? Id really appreciate it.

Hate to drag up a 5 month old thread, but I'm running into the exact same issue on my 07 street bob. The fitment section clearly said the pipe would work with forward controls, and it very much doesn't. Bought a 3ft section of some 5/8" steel rod to fabricate a replacement. Did you ever resolve yours?
