I just bought a 1996 Dyna Lowrider (FXDS).
When I bought it, it had forward controls that I had to stretch to reach and wasn't comfortable for anything more than about 10 miles or so. I had it converted to mids, but not with a kit. One of the local private shops rigged something up for me. But I feel like they're too close now. Thinking about going back to forward controls or to floorboards if I can find the parts to make it work and look good. I'm about 5'4" with a 29"-30" inseam.
I have seen a reduced reach kit for the 06-up models. Will they fit my bike? Or can they be easily modified to fit?
Or will the Wyatt Gatling floorboard kit accomplish what I am trying to do??

Reason: Add my height. Better describe the situation
They make Forward Mids, be about 3" further forward than standard Mid controls. Check out a dealers used section and see if you can find a set to try. Should be able to find a used set on here.

I was looking through the used dyna parts section and it looks like all the mid kits are sold.
See the black cover & shaft. 96 FXD stock mid - shaft goes through the primary and had an arm on the inside. Same for the brake. The forwards in thhe pik were actually 3+ when I got it and I modified it to 1+/

That looks like the initial setup that it had when I bought it. They were too far forward for me to comfortably ride for any kind of distance. The Wyatt Gatlin floorboard kit looks like a good solution. Another guy in my MC has a softail custom with floorboards. That setup fits me just fine. I just can't comfortably ride with the controls all the way forward.
