Anyone based in the UK want to arrange a meet up this 'Summer' in between the monsoon floods. Somewhere central to us all maybe, or Lakes, Scotland, Cornwall.........................any thoughts........
Paul
Count me in.
BTW were you at the 'Independence Rally' in Matlock this weekend by any chance?
Pity we didn't think of the idea before as this weekend would have been ideal, as it was Americana weekend this weekend, http://www.americana-international.co.uk/
Would have been an ideal location, central UK, camping facilities, lots of beer tents, music stages, lots of HD's, US cars blah, blah etc......
Not that I went, a few Harley riders I know went, but I decided to go solo and rode up to Duxford forto the Flying Legends vintage warbirds airshow........and be surrounded by about 50,000 horsepower.........gotta love the sound of a RR Merlin or two or twenty odd...
Sounds like a good date to me - not sure about the camping though!!!!!! given that so far summers been a washout, I don't fancy taking a chance in a tent

Spoke with my brother this weekend and if you'll have us we'd like to come. Camping has gotta be the way to go!! Can't beat rolling about in a field drunk and wet!!LOL.
As far as Merlins go - sometimes the Battle of Britain memorial flight flies over our house really low - don't know why - It is so amazing, the hairs really do stand up on the back of your neck. I've also seen a Lancaster fly over and "wiggle" it's wings near us - I think it was a guy who went to my old school (Rastrick Grammar) who wasthe pilot. I know he flew Vulcans so he must have been a top notch flier..maybe he went on to the Memorial Flight...
I know thelast bit'coz the Headmaster told me once when I been getting a bollocking for something and at the end I asked him why he had a picture of a Vulcan Bomber on his office wall.......
Welsh Borders sound an excellent choice - good roads and top scenery..
