Default Belt replacement options

Hi everyone, lookin for suggestions on drive belt replacements for my lrs. I’m at about 122 ft lb on this tune so I don’t really feel it’s enough to justify upgrading to a chain drive but I do beat the hell out of it. I have about 26k on the bike and I’ve never had a belt crack like this. I’ll try to upload pics but they really don’t do it justice. I check/adjust belt deflection every service.

So what do you guys use? Oem replacement? Or is there a better and tougher option out there? Thanks.

Harley or gates or S&s stay away from falcon and panther . Any belt that says show or custom is junk. I think Harley belts are made by gates.

Did you remove one or both belt guards? I would check the rear pulley to make sure that none of the teeth are sharp and cutting into the belt.

How old is that belt?
What do pulleys look like?
Looks like it is decomposing and delaminating.

You have to take all of it off anyway, I'd do the chain.

Yeah, agree with you Kraken... if that was my bike. People are different and with chain comes maintenance. If bike is stock with no big engine performances, then I can’t justify chain over belt.

Chain if you have stage 2 or bigger or want to change the gearing ratio.

To be honest I haven’t looked at it yet. It’s gonna be down for a while anyway (financial ****) so I’m not in a hurry. I was mostly curious if there was any better choices for belts. It’s a 17 lrs with a 117 so it does make some power but not enough to justify a chain upgrade.

My belt looked like that after 80,000km.

id go an OEM replacement but make sure it’s aligned and properly tensioned.

Have an S&S Belt Ready but so far my OEM Belt looks pretty darn good for a 15 Year Old Ride .. But has Low Mileage and has always been Garage Kept ..
