I just checked my factory service manual. 32 oz. for the primary and 32 oz. for the transmission. My FSM is for a 2007 Dyna, but I'm pretty sure the primary and transmission hadn't changed from 2007 through 2017.

Leaving the oil filter off a Shovel or Evo simply interrupts the flow of oil going back to the tank, after it has been through the engine.
Leaving an oil Filter off a TC or M8 interrupts the oil flow going to the engine.

But i think i will take tge advice of riding for 30 minutes rather than just 15 minutes. I also like the idea of letting the oild drain over night idea. Not to that extreme but longer next time. Since i do not have a garage for that kind of thing.
I do got to say though. The change of oils have been an improvement from what ive noticed. 2 test rides and 2 commutes to work....shifting is really smooth. It just glides into neatural. Also the initial shift to 1st gear is reallly smooth. I had to check and see if it even shifted to 1st. Im not use to it shifting that good. Nice.

Forvthe 17 dyna owners manual it says 28 oz for trans, 34 for prim and i just put 2 quarts for my engine just from last times trial and error. But im not sure on the differences on the years.

That's very interesting. I didn't think the primary or transmission has changed in that time but I could very well be wrong.
Whoa, I just checked both of my owners manuals, one for my 2007 Street Bob and the other for my 2012 Superglide Custom. The 2007 owners manual says one quart for primary and one quart for trans. The 2012 says 28 oz. for trans. For primary it says "see Table 12." When you refer to table 12, it says 32 oz for primary AND 32 oz for trans. Hmmmmm. Iv'e done three oil changes on that bike since I got it and put on close to 20,000 miles using 1 quart in each so far with no problems. I wonder what a FSM says for my 2012? And your bike as well?
