friend of mine i worked with for many many years at ak steel. been riding harley's most of his life. damn i hate this kind of news .

Staff Writer [/align]Tuesday, July 10, 2007 [/align]MIDDLETOWN â A Middletown man was killed Saturday morning when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck, according to Middletown police.
Charles T. "Tom" Higgins, 62, of the 4000 block of Shannon Way, was riding east on University Boulevard at about 10:05 a.m. when a pickup truck driven by Guy Manning, 53, of the 200 block of Forest Street in Mason, made a U-turn on University Boulevard near Gage Drive, said Lt. Don Owens.

Get latest headlines via RSS feeds[/align][/align]Higgins, a retired AK Steel Corp. worker, was transported to Middletown Regional Hospital, where he died. Manning was not injured.Owens said Manning made the U-turn while trying to locate an auction in the area.
Charges will be filed this week following an investigation, according to police.
Higgins' wife, Mary, said her husband had been riding motorcycles all of his life and was always riding his Harley-Davidson Road King with his friends.
At the time of the accident, she said he was returning home after watching his grandson's baseball game in Madison Twp.
"He was everybody's friend," she said. "He was a very helpful and caring person."
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Breiel Boulevard First Church of God. Visitation is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at the Woodside Cemetery. Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home is serving the family.[/align]
I know you said you didn't need a reply but I wanted to tell you I'm sorry about your Buddy. That hits home for me in a lot of ways. Grew up in Middletown and my Dad worked in the roll shop at Armco for years. He died in an auto accident years ago. Could be that back when I was a kid, long before I knew anything about riding, I may havemet your friend with my old man. Anyway, I, like many others on this forum will be thinkin about you and your friend's family and are sorry for your loss. Take care.
