There is a procedure in the manual to do what your asking but a shorten version is turn your ignition on, turn your run button to on, if you hear the pump prime...disconnect the fuel line using the quick connect...and see if it sprays gas out? If no gas it’s inside your tank is the problem...or that quick connect is faulty
So I pressed on the spring inside of the quick disconnect on the check valve under the tank. There was fuel coming out of that connection when I pressed on the spring. That is leading me to believe the problem is with the EFI fuel line itself.
crusader1xxx - Thanks so much for your help. I finally had time to tear into the gas tank as I was waiting to troubleshoot her as we have had 110+ deg heat index recently. I took off the top plate to the tank, kept the wire leads connected, turned on the ignition, and then hit run... (I wanted to see what exactly was going on inside the tank with the pump and assembly as it was on.)
I discovered that that fuel filter gasket wasn't seated right and fuel was spraying out of the side of it (when the pump was priming) instead of pressurizing the line. It makes sense now. There was enough gas in the line for the engine to very briefly catch and fire, but not enough pressure to keep it running. I re-seated the fuel filter gasket. Turned on the ignition and run. Sure enough, no fuel spraying out of the assembly. I buttoned her up, fired her up, and she roared!!!!
I can officially say SHE ROARS HARLEY STYLE with the screaming eagle exhaust.
