I just had the dealer install a outer chrome pimary cover with a new derby for my 07 superglide. After the installI noticed a spider like mark under the chrome by one of the bolts. (no cracks or chips) I showed the dealer and he agreed to order me a new one. Well the new cover came in today and guess what? this one has the same mark on a few more on her.The parts guy said it's possible since this is the second cover thats it's just part of the casting process and he would order me a new one if I like.
Well the question I have is it's not really noticable but I don't want it to flake or chip later. I wondering if I should just put the bead blast cover on and say the hell with it. He offered to order me a new beat blast cover and refund the difference. It's just the chrome one looks really good. I'm pretty sure if I keep ordering replacement chrome covers those marks will be on there. Any ideas, should I just leave it, after 30 days I'm on my own and if it cracks or flakes I'mon my own money wise.....
dang poor quality control !!! get another new one . i sure would . i would be curious where that sucker is made too. and stamp on where it is made. china junk perhaps ? do not be shocked if it is .
think about it..would you accept this on a new car ? same diff . [:@]
