You can lean as low or high as you want for that matter. You totally missing the point. If you’re comparing riding your bike with sitting on the couch and saying that is arguing with ergonomics, I have nothing more to say. Good luck

Forward controls was first change I made to my Low Rider when I bought it. Have no regrets and no plans to change back to the mid controls.

Nah.... I didn’t miss the point.. It's called comfort.. If your couch is comfortable sorry for you.

If you are a certain size person,it is uncomfortable to ride a bike with mid controls! You get these things called cramps.. They hurt and it sucks like hell when you're doing 75mph.. So by the simple motion of extending your legs forwards it's more comfortable..

But we own a bike that we all customize to our likings, so what you like, you might be the only person that likes it..
So be it..
The OP asked

Lastly....anyone here that doesn’t like forward controls on their bike? Any regrets with forward controls?

Any opinions are much appreciated....thanks

And peoples have offered their thoughts.

There's no wrong or right answer to this as there are many variables (rider height, riding style, personal preference, maybe physical health, etc.).

I have experience with both and I like them both. I personally prefer mids + highway pegs. I like having different foot positions. I can kick back and relax putting miles down or 'get on top of it' for more aggressive riding. I'm 5'-9", and feel this setup is perfectly suited for me.

A recliner as a better analogy. Sometimes I like to recline, sometimes I don't. I'll recline when watching a movie or be on the edge of the seat if I'm watching a Taylor Swift concert.

I appreciate all the replies....

I don’t know what I’m going to do....I like the look of forward controls, but use to the mid controls.

I need to ride a few bikes with forward controls and try it out.

It’s all about comfort, if person “A” is comfortable riding with forwards....then that is what they will ride with, just cause person “B” prefers mid controls...again that is their preference....me I have floorboards..kind of in between the two I guess..

and pretty much any forward control set will work...that is the one thing that Harley did right, keeping the frames the same, to be safe try to find ones that say specific to your year set 1990-2005; 2006 - 2017...

I have factory forwards on my Street Bob. I'm 5'-10".
My whole problem with forwards is that I'm tired of taking a beating with every bump, pothole, railroad track, speed bump ,or rough road because I cannot rise up on the pegs.
I think the budget for road repairs in my area is $3.29 because the roads here SUCK. I also live in the twisties. There are no straight roads. After riding awhile, I start to cramp up in the outer hip area. Finally, I live at the end of a dead end gravel road. It's much easier to handle my buddies bike (mids) than mine on this road.
If I lived somewhere else with good roads and mostly straight running, I wouldn't have a problem with forwards.
I tried to find someone to trade with, but because I need to trade inner and outer covers, I got no takers.
