This is what mine looks like. The previous owner bought and installed it. I just found the original package in my basement as well. I'd put the OEM one back on, but it got a good scratch from a staple going into the JD packaging.

you can easily repair that cover! prep it carefully by sanding it good, paint the entire thing black, let it dry, then carefully sand the raised portion until until its bare aluminum again, then clear coat
