Default Back for a little more help. ACCY wire shorted out.

Ok, so today, I ohmed out the orange with white stripe wire (from ACCY fuse) and I had a dead short between it and the handlebar.

Would you just start cutting the outer sheath and testing until you found something? Certainly there must be some usual places to check? I DID pinch wires in the process of installing the controls on the new bar so that's where I'll start. I just don't see how it could be a dead short (?) to ground.

ANY tips welcome, guys/gals.

I'm asking nicely. If anyone has any experience with this sort of thing and sees this, please chime in. I can use all the advice I can gather as to how to efficiently proceed.

Can you unplug the switch and recheck? How about the connector at the neck? Try unpluging them one at a time while checking for the short.

Rereading your post I think you answered your own question. Look closely where you pinched

Thanks for the tips, Dave (?). I'm just going to have to start there and wing it. I just hope it's that easy, lol.

I did it!! I found 2 shorts. I created both , so they were fairly easy to find, once I started looking. That was the scariest part, lol.

Anyway, got them sorted out, cut some wire slots in my new bars, tried out my one of my new risers, and called it a day.

Seriously you guys, thanks!
