I'm not much for the hard-tail look in a soft-tail. I like the exposed shocks and swingarm.
If you want looks, more accessories for the softtail. If you like riding, the Dyna.
This is a personal decision and you should give both a try and see what you like.
I tried the EG, WG, Sportser, Softail, etc., but if was the SG that appealed the most.

I've spent enough time on both types to come to the conclusion that the Dyna rides and handles better. Plus I really don't like the counterbalanced "B" motor.

I went through the same dilema a few months ago. Demoed and rented both bikes. I would recomend that you do that also. I went with the Dyna. If you like your Sportster and you do any kind of riding in the twisties, even at moderate paces you will probably be much happier with a Dyna. Softails are great and I like them but for me Dynas are more fun to ride. good luck...
