Default Switchback fall mods

After beeing inspired by the great Switchbacks on this forum i decided to go the black route with my Dyna as well:
The first picture is how my dad bought the switchback stock:

I decided to modify the exhaust (Big shots) and seat (Mustang Wide tripper diamond).

Replaced the stock AC with a RSD Turbine, adding a V&H fuel pack.

Now i decided it was time to powderoat most of the chrome parts. so the dissasambly begon.

Doing the rocker covers, Primary cover, nacelle, clutch cover, Risers, fender struts and painting the for forks.

To finish the project, i decided to replace the suspension with Progressive 430 and a black 1 inch apehanger (12 Inch).

Only thing i am trying to decide is to do the rocker covers flat black or gloss black. Thoughts are very welcome!

Will post pictures next week when the PC is done.

Nice! Are the covers satin or gloss black? What type of wheels do you have? Extra spacers needed?

gloss black on the rocker boxes if that is what you mean. Ridewright wheels 120/70 R21 front and 160/60 R18 rear.

Nice bikes both of you. Can wait to see how yours turns out man.

I just bought this last week. Few bolt on mods already. Original owner got hold of me through the dealership i bought it from. He has crash bars, highway bars and a batwing fairing for sale. Not sure i want everything he is offering or not. I don't know how the bag crash bars attach and i want the ability to remove them without too much trouble when i ride without the bags. I don't like my KN intake and the Bassani exaust isn't loud enough for my taste. Lots of time through winter to make some changes.

interesting to see this Switchback blacked out. The combination Red with gloss black is very nice! Are you planning on doing some Powder coating?

Is the reason you don't like the K&N that it sits further back, and you keep banging your knee on it? If you want to change your pipes to black, I'm going to be switching out my Freedom Independence Shortys for a V&H 2-1 Pro Pipe, as soon as I can find an end cap that doesn't cost $70-100. They sound GREAT, but I like the look of the 2-1 better, and I got such a great deal on the Pro Pipe, too. Let me know if you're interested.

A few reasons I don't like the K&N is first its ugly. Second i prefer the stainless filters instead of the red ones you have to oil. Third ya i hit my knee on it.

I prefer the 2-1 as well and chrome but thanks for the offer. Going to be switching to VH over the winter like i had on my last bike as well.
