So I have a 07 dyna just bought used, at slow speeds/acceleration 1st 2nd and 3rd gear work fine but in 4th and up it begins to rap out and send minimal if any power to my wheel almost as if the clutch is slipping, I replaced everything in the primary the throw out bearing on the transmission side all my oil and the issue persists, also in low gears if I try to accelerate quickly/ drop the clutch the bike will have the same issue of just reving to limit with little to no power hitting the wheel, my drive belt and wheel bearing are also new I just cant figure out a possible cause, every harley mechanic I've talked to has told me it's a strange issue and cant give me advice I'd prefer not to pay out the bum to take it in and get it fixed if it's something simple I'm over looking also the clutch is adjusted properly I even went as far as to try to adjust the clutch off slightly to see if any change but nothing please help me out with any advice you have thank you
Did you also replace the clutch friction -and steel plates? Maybe they got contaminated. If the clutch is really slipping bad- you would smell burnt clutch.
Your symptoms indicate a slipping clutch. As suggested, have you adjusted it correctly? (If the TO bearing was replaced, I'd expect you'd have adjusted it.) Otherwise, time to take the clutch apart.
