Yep,J&P screwed us. Mine came in a Rivco Products box after being backordered by J&P. Look at their price.

Just installed a set on my 06 Streetbob, had a hellova time getting my windshield brackets to mount up. Now there's no adjustment fore and aft on the shield, had to wedge it in place. Those fricken risers are massive, woulda sent them back but didn't want to go thru the hassle, plus they're probably scratched where the shield mount is forced in place.

Good Luck

Tom

As far as I know - the speedo housing on the 2005 SG is identical to housing on the 2006 SG. This is the one single component that changed between model years 2004 and 2005. The 2005 style carried over to 2006.

I guess what I'm trying to say is - if they didn't fit 2006 they won't fit 2005 either.
I did not know that. I thought the speedo housing changed in 2006, but if you are right, then the risers will not fit 2005 Super Glides either. Watch out on this guys, be warned.

Wow...they really are trying to screw us with the price. But something else does not make any sense. Look at the pictrures on the Rivco website. That sure looks like a later model speedo housing to me. I dunno how they got it to fit. Looks like they may have left the back cover off, but even so, when I tried that the screw bosses hit the risers. If you click on the part number on the Rivco webisite, mounting instructions pop up in pdf form. In those instructions, it clearly lists the kit for 2005 and earlier FXD's. WTF? I'm wondering if the 2005 speedo housing is a little different than the 2006 and later models.

Ya - pics look like a 2005 speedo, which to me looks identical to the 2006 speedo?
Perhaps the housing is the same, but for some reason the back has changed?
Looking at the risers, I can't envision why they wouldn't fit - so something must be different.

Just as well I think they are butt ugly anyway - don't flow very well into the top tree.

A nice set of Chubby Wild 1 risers will set you back a lot less.

I just got my Dyna risers from JP cycles. I wanted a no hassle way to bring back my handlebars a couple inches. They are advertised to fit 1984-2007 Dynas. Well they DO NOT FIT 2006 SUPERGLIDES. In fact, the directions from the manufacturer say they fit 2005 and earlier Dyna models. yet JP has them listed in the catalog as fitting up to year 2007.

Do not waste your time and money if you have a 2006 or later Superglide. They interfere with the speedo housing. I will be returning them. What a PIA. I'm going to look into plan B, where I try and mount the Road King Custom handlebars to my bike. They have a lot of pullback and I don't have to mess with the speedo housing.

JP part #501-845

Ah, dude, why would you waste your money on those to begin with?! What a rip off! You can get a normal pair of 2" pullback risers for $75 through JP or under $50 on eBay! I have an '02 Super Glide with 4" pullback risers and I didn't need any new cables. This was with the original handlebars. I just added drag bars this year, and now have too much cabling!

I just installed 4" straight risers ( HD ) cost over $100.00 and did not say they fit my '07 superglide but they do! I have to get some pics up asap, I will, but they are a nice alternative to different handlebars. I pulled on my cables a little, and straightened my brake line and they fit fine. With the 2" tank lift from jackyl,it looks good. Don't try pull-backrisers! The speedo takes a weird turn toward you for the worse!
Yep, the speedo looked AWFUL with the stock handlebar. With drags and the teardrop mirrors it is 100% better. Note I have 4" pullback risers:
