Default Struggling

I've got a 99 wide glide and I bought a tire/wheel off a 12 wide glide 180/60-17 tire. It came with a 1" wide pulley but I can't get it to fit into the swingarm. Can anyone please tell me what I've gotta do to get this to work. I'm to far in to back out now. Thanks

Your 99 Wide Glide came from the factory with a 130 rear tire. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I don't think there's anything you can do to make a 180 fit.

I have a ‘99 FXDX, and I’m pretty sure the swingarms are the same for all the ‘99s. I can’t honestly see a way you could run a 180 series tire back there with the factory swingarm... I’m sorry to give you bad news.

Probably not an easy swap. There may be differences between models but I put a 180 on my 99. Based on my experience, You'll need to cut the fender struts off and find/make alternative fender mounting, wider fender, turn/brake/plate mounting, 3/4 bearing conversion, and switch to a narrow belt at the minimum. Mine does fit inside the swinger but just barely. My swinger has no belt guard, either. Not sure if that's a factor. The rest I mentioned...hopeless...on my DWG anyway.

I have a custom wheel, custom spacers, chain conversion, custom seat, custom lighting, etc. All one-off.

I've cut the fender struts off, have a 8.5" wide fender, solo seat, and its got lowering struts on it. After taking the pulley of I've got it centered in the swingarm. Definitely gonna do a chain conversion.
I'm leaning towards the 23/54 gear combo. Closest I can find to the 30/70 belt drive ratio. Ive just gotta figure out my sprocket spacing

I've got the second from widest PBI front sprocket. 1.062? A flat rear PBI sprocket, and a Vulcan rear spacer. Not sure of the thickness. Changed it too many times. I can get you a ballpark this weekend if you want.

I'm using a '00 (iirc) rear hub laced to an aftermarket rim and custom axle spacers to get the tire centered in the swinger. I know I modified the front hub but I can't remember for sure if I did the rear. Don't think so. I can't come close to a guarantee that my rear sprocket spacer would work on your setup but it should be ballpark.

depending on how far the front sprocket sets out I think I've got the rear wheel where it should be using a 5/8 sprocket spacer

The front sprocket I mentioned earlier is the widest you can go and still have the chain rivets safely clear the inner primary. The next width up from PBI (1.25"?) interferes badly (I tried it.). Other vendors may have a size in between that would fit. I seem to recall thinking another .060 - .100 might fit but would probably rub grooves in some of the casting webs on the back of the primary.

The 5/8 spacer sounds right in the ball park from my recollection. I was thinking I landed somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4. I started with like 1" (originally trying to fit a 200) and trimmed it down bit by bit as I zeroed in. The trimming is why I can't remember the actual thickness. I wasn't actually measuring the thickness, just the amount I needed to remove.
