I just looked up the TB situation on the HPI site, they are of course, very different and around $600. I rough estimated all the parts including the ECM and new harness and it'll be around $1300 (not including the new TB). This is my forever bike we're talking about though, so it'd be worth it to me. I would think in a perfect world, the dealer could VIN set the new ECM, I drop all the parts in the bike, the PV recognizes the VIN and I reupload my tune, run a few logs, send them to FM and update the tune they did for me on their dyno, then I'm golden. Easy-peasy
That isn't as bad as I would have guessed. Not exactly pocket change, but I've probably spent more money on dumber things.
For anyone that wants to play along, here's some more analysis. Comparing the harness in the major areas of impact, there are others, but I used all the available space in this one post. It's becoming pretty evident that not only is this possible but could also be done without replacing the whole harness. Those of you that follow my posts know that I would NEVER patch in a bunch of wires jumping to the ECM, but you know, just saying, it could be done.
It also looks like I'd need to get speed sensors installed also or deal with CEL codes, same might go for ABS? Whatever, I'm going to post this before I lose all my hard work.

I've got nothing constructive to add to this thread, I just wanted to tell Mr. Snake Eyes that I've always really respected your "can do" attitude on your bike projects. If anyone can get this done, I'm sure you can.

Awesome comment. Sounds like the story of my life.
Forever bike, do it, you are there already in your head, make it real 👍
Yeah as of today, I think you're right.

Thanks very much for the kind words @Crazy that really means a lot to me.
The only thing (so far) that makes me nervous about doing this is the ABS piece. It would be nice to just leave the brakes alone since I have Brembo's front and back and it looks like the hoses, and the ABS pump cover are obsolete at the MoCo. I'm pretty sure @brownie4412 has Brembo's on his FXDLRS and maybe @Mchad also? Any thoughts on compatibility and leads for finding hoses and that elusive side cover?
Still doing more research and it turns out an ECM can be cloned, no dealer needed Diagnostic Scan tools for Harley-Davidson - Centurion Super Pro I'm waiting to hear what their product costs since their website is pretty crappy. It'll probably be too expensive to justify but they do have shops listed, one that's near me, I may reach out and see if their cost to clone would be better than the dealer.
I also learned that the throttle twist grip, 32700050A is still in use today. I was concerned that 2017 TBW technology would be lacking in 2026 so that's a pleasant surprise!
EDIT: The front lighting and hand control wiring referenced in the diagrams below does not differ for TBW/Cruise control equipped bikes. As far as I can tell those connections are routed through the bars and meet the main harness in the backbone. Same goes for ABS and speed sensors, there are no sub-harnesses.

I noticed something else while comparing schematics, looks like I'll need a FXDLS speedo too, the part number is different and I'm guessing it's because there's a cruise control indicator on the bezel.
