haha. Id have to dump $4,000 in the motor before $4,000 on wheels. Somehow its better justified in my head 🤗
You're always better off putting money into suspension and brakes before motor work. I build-up my motor first, then it become painfully apparent how inadequate the stock suspension was. I like high speeds though, so your opinion might be different due to riding style.

Suspension and brakes are done 🙂 I also enjoy going fast (which is all relative of course)
Wheel/tire/rotor weight is HUGE for overall performance. Simplified, but... Rotating mass is like 3x more resistant to velocity change than non-rotating...ie, removing 1 pound of weight from your rims is like removing 3 pounds from the chassis. JUST from a straight line acceleration point of view.
my thunderstar front rim and spoked front rim weighed about the same, not much difference now the solid rear with the shield cut outs weighed a hell of a lot more than the spokes rear!!
If you get new aftermarket spoked wheels....follow me here.....with a aluminum rim and billet hub, they will be lighter than the 13 spokes. By a little bit lighter
I can tell a lot of people here have never ridden a bicycle much. It doesn't take a genius or an engineer to know that the biggest bang for the buck weight wise is rotational weight reduction. Furthermore, the further the weight reduction is from the center of rotation the bigger the difference. IE tire/rim weight reduction is more important than brake rotor weight reduction.

That's what I did. Truly wish I had gotten weights but I spaced. It's a marked difference, With rotating mass, the closer you can keep the weight to the axle, the more pronounced the effect.
